Emergency Homeowner Guide: How to Shut Off Your Water in Radcliff

If water is actively spraying or overflowing right now, follow these steps before or while calling us:

1. TOILET OR SINK LEAK

Turn the Fixture Angle Stop

Look underneath the toilet tank or bathroom/kitchen sink cabinet for a small chrome oval handle on the wall pipe. Turn it clockwise (righty-tighty) until it stops, or rotate a quarter-turn lever 90 degrees across the pipe.

2. BURST HOUSE PIPE

Close Your Main House Valve

In Radcliff homes, your main water shut-off valve is usually next to the water heater, on the front foundation wall in the basement, or just inside the crawlspace access door. Pull the lever handle 90 degrees so it sits perpendicular to the pipe.

3. LEAKING WATER HEATER

Kill Cold Inlet & Power/Gas

Turn off the cold water valve on the right-hand pipe going into the top of your water heater. If electric, flip off the double-pole breaker labeled 'Water Heater' in your panel. If gas, twist the gas control dial on the front of the tank to OFF.
